The Tao of Trading – More Success with Less Stress

The Tao of TradingHave you ever bought a stock because an analyst recommended it or it looked promising, only to have it sink along with the prospects of you gaining a profit in the near future?Cautionary Tale OneI did that with Tesla (TSLA) stocks recently.  On most days, Tesla drops fairly dramatically at the open, then fluctuates fairly dramatically up and down during the day with a high range often as much as $4 to $8. Most days you can count on at least $3 a share for as many shares as you can buy. A day trader will take the money and get out by close. Not that day.I started low and mostly fell in a downward trend all day. Instead of selling, I bought more as it fell expecting it to reverse.  It never did that day. The Positive Side of the “Ambulance Chasing” Approach To Investing

Some of us have the luxury of having secure pensions and have acquired property and assets to carry us into the years where an ambulance could be a mode of transportation for us. Buying property and goods at discount rates following an economic meltdown or natural disaster.  The sub-prime mortgage meltdown in the US created many investment opportunities. Selling Volkswagen stocks short when their emissions fudge was announced and buying at the bottom....

Nookie Futures – Making Love and Money

Bonnie and I have a shared trading account and are learning strategies for short term trading. Most North American markets open at 9:30 am EST and the most important time to make moves is between 9:00 am and 11 am EST.  That is 6 am to 8 am PST.One morning we ended up doing special yoga instead of implementing the trading strategy we are learning. When we did check the markets, it turned out that the market movement was perfect for our strategy that day. We missed out making hundreds of dollars in a few hours. There will be other opportunities. To ensure we do not miss them we have agreed not to indulge in special yoga unless we have made at least $200 with the investments for the day.Nookie Futures!Good motivation!
